Obama Tweet is now 2nd liked of all time

Obama’s simple tweet bore a message of love and unity in the aftermath of the Charlottesville clashes between Neo-Nazi terror groups and liberal counter-protesters.  It is a tweet that has now been liked over 3million times, ranking it as the 2nd most of all time:

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion”

Obama’s tweet, was one of a series of three that quoted a passage from Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, The Long Walk To Freedom.

“People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

It speaks to the fact that we are created equal and any differentiation between race or religion or class is a societal construct born out of ignorance and fear.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion,” the quote reads.

“People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

Obama’s tweet is a call to arms against bigotry, at a time when we need it most.

Joe Biden got a lot of twitter love as well:

The tweet overtook Ariana Grande’s tweet, posted after the bombing at her concert in Manchester, England, received more likes:

Third Culture Leaders

Third Culture is not bound by borders, and so our leaders can come from anywhere, our voice from anyone.

It is important for us to take a stand against bigotry and ensure that we teach love and are mindful of cultural practices that promote racism, whether intentionally or not.
