For the third year in a row, expat community InterNations has conducted a survey among its members to gain insight into the best and worst of expat life. They then distilled all this info into handy infographics, ranging from housing issues, to relationships, and even country-specific expat profiles.
See for instance this one on the Top Expat Desitinations. “Survey participants were asked to rank 43 different aspects of life abroad on a scale of one to seven.” With this information, InterNations managed to create a ranked list of places, with some surprising contenders for top destination – Malta anyone?
Of THIRD CULTURE home base Hong Kong, the survey had the following to say: “Expats moving to Hong Kong will find that it is not the easiest place to get settled in: it ranks 48th out of 67 countries in the Ease of Settling In Index, with the low ratings for finding friends, locals’ friendliness, and the language barrier going a long way to explain this result.”
